Terms of Service

unemployed is run by Maan Teckwani, a sole proprietor based in India ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@unemployedapp.com.

You must be 18 or over, and able to enter into a binding agreement under the law that applies to you.

Each account is for one person. Keep your sign in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

unemployed finds job postings that employers publish on their own careers pages and on public job boards, shows you the ones that fit what you asked for, and helps you apply with tailored resumes, outreach drafts, interview preparation and a record of your applications.

We are not an employer, a recruiter or an employment agency. We do not check the employers or postings shown, and we do not guarantee that you will get an interview or a job. Apply using your own judgement, and never pay anyone for the chance to apply.

Your CV, your profile and everything you write or generate with the service remain yours.

You give us permission to store and process them, and to send them to the providers named in our Privacy Policy, only to provide the service to you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.

Only upload information you have the right to use. Do not upload another person's CV or personal details without their permission.

If you add your face to the wall, the display name, country and drawn face you choose are shown publicly. Choose a name you are happy for anyone to see, and do not use another person's. You can ask for it to be removed at any time.

Skill matches, resumes, messages and interview preparation are produced automatically, using AI models. They are designed to use only what is in your own CV, but they can be incomplete or wrong.

You are responsible for reviewing anything before you send it or rely on it, and for everything you submit to an employer.

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, to harm or mislead other people, or to send spam.

Do not try to get around plan limits or security, reach other people's accounts or data, copy the service or its data in bulk, overload it, or access it by automated means other than the app and extension we provide.

Do not resell the service, or its output, as a service of your own.

Finding and filtering jobs is free. The free plan includes small monthly allowances of some features. The paid plans, Pro and Max, include larger allowances, which are shown in the app before you subscribe.

Pro and Max are subscriptions, billed in advance each month or each quarter through Razorpay, in Indian rupees in India and in US dollars elsewhere. The price, including any applicable tax, is shown before you pay. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.

You can cancel at any time from Settings in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your account then returns to the free plan rather than closing.

If we change the price of a plan, the new price applies from your next billing period, and we will tell you before it does.

Allowances reset each month and do not carry over.

If you are not happy, email hello@unemployedapp.com within seven days of your first payment for a plan, and we will refund that payment in full.

Renewal payments, and any payment after the first, are not refunded. Cancelling stops them recurring.

Refunds go back to the card or account the payment came from, and usually take five to seven working days to appear. Nothing in this section limits any right to a refund you have under law.

Signing in uses Google, and payments use Razorpay, and your use of those is also subject to their own terms. Job postings link to employers' own sites, which we do not control.

We keep improving the service, which means features can change or be removed. We aim to keep it available, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first. If we close a paid account that has not broken these terms, we will refund the unused part of the current period.

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including missed opportunities or the hiring decisions of employers.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute arises, please email us first and we will try to resolve it. If we cannot, the courts of India have jurisdiction.
